Jamie Foxx Clarifies Hairdo, On ‘When I Was 17′

Jamie Foxx reveals the appalling misconception of his hairdo during the ’80s on this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT on MTV.
“When I was 17, I had the major curl, not the Jheri curl,” Foxx says. “A lot of people get it twisted and confused, and they say ‘Jheri curl.’ ”
What’s the difference, you’re wondering? He explains, “I had the little curls in the front and the big ones in the back.”
His friend Gilbert shares who else worked this ‘do: “I would link the major curl to women or pimps, for the most part.”
But growing up in a small town in Texas, Jamie’s major curl must have helped him stand out from the crowd.
“Where I grew up was Terrell, Texas, right outside of Dallas: 12,000 people, a small town where everybody knew everybody,” he says.
Besides maintaining his hairdo, Foxx tells us how he spent the rest of his time when he was 17: “It was just real simple. It was about having a crush on a girl, walking her from the football stadium, holding hands. You go park, and the cops bang on the door, ‘What y’all doing?’ ”
Nobody likes a flattened major curl.

Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez’s Arena Date: How Much Did It Cost?

A regular guy would have dropped serious coin to rent out the Staples Center for a romantic night out.

Membership has its privileges, and when the club you’re in is the elite pop star society, there isn’t much you can’t get your hands on. That’s why a teenager like Justin Bieber was able to swing the swankiest surprise date of all time with his squeeze Selena Gomez on Friday night when he treated her to dinner and a movie at the Staples Center.
Now, before you get any ideas. The 20,000-seat home of the Los Angeles Lakers (and countless major concerts) is not available to just any Joe Schmo. No, Bieber reportedly got the keys to the palace for free because he’s sold the joint out three times and owner AEG Live figured they’d throw him a bone. Which got us thinking: What would it cost to treat your sweetie to a Bieber-esque night of steak and “Titanic”?

As you might imagine, the powers-that-be at Staples weren’t really willing to spill the beans, but we crunched some numbers on our own and here’s what we were able to figure:
$475,000: That’s how much it would cost you to buy a high-end VIP luxury suite for 14 at the Staples Center, which would get you about 2,500 tickets a year to Lakers, Clippers and Sparks basketball games; L.A. Kings hockey games; concerts; lectures; X Games; and wrestling matches. Given that the venue holds 20,000, we can only imagine a one-night rental would run you well into the six figures.
$200-plus: Bieber ordered steaks and pasta from the exclusive members-only Lexus Club at Staples, a 130-capacity high-end dining area where even the buffet will run you $57.
Priceless: The lucky couple reportedly watched “Titanic” on their date. Now, most men would try to save a few bucks and rent the regular DVD, but given JB’s clear baller tendencies, is it safe to assume he called James Cameron and finagled an early copy of the 3-D anniversary Blu-ray edition that is due out in April?
$299 to $1,199: The price of renting an inflatable, 32- to 40-foot portable movie screen from FunFlicks.com for a special event. That is, assuming the Biebs did not make Gomez crane her neck and watch the whole movie on the Center’s Jumbotron.
194: That’s how many minutes “Titanic” would run if JB didn’t have a remote that would allow him and Selena to skip some of the hours of extras.
2:30 a.m.: That’s about how late into the morning the couple would have had to stay at Staples in order to watch all of “Titanic,” assuming they started it as soon as they arrived at 11 p.m. and had it running during their meal.
$300,000: The amount Bieber pulls in nightly at each one of his concerts.
$53 million: That’s how much Bieber banked in 2010. In other words, don’t sweat it: He can afford this kind of date every night of the year if he wants to.

Seth Rogen Says ’50/50′ Head-Shaving Scene Was Improvised

If the Summit Entertainment marketing machine has done its job, you’ve probably seen the eye-catching movie posters for the studio’s latest release “50/50.” The goofy one-sheet depicts a memorable scene from the film in which Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s cancer-stricken Adam shaves his head, while a dubious Adam (played by Seth Rogen) looks on.
It’s one of the movie’s many lighthearted moments, adding levity to what could otherwise be a downer drama. But according to the film’s stars, the take wasn’t as carefree as it may have looked.
“My heart was beating hard, because we only had one take because you can’t shave your head twice. It doesn’t work,” Gordon-Levitt said at the “50/50″ premiere earlier this week in New York. “Normally, you can always do it over again when you’re making movies. You get a take two. But we only got take one, and it worked.”
Apparently, Gordon-Levitt had another reason to be nervous about the scene — it wasn’t scripted. According to producer and co-star Rogen, the two just played it by ear.
“We only had one shot at it,” Rogen recalled. “It was the first day of filming, and we improvised the whole thing, which is not wise when it’s something you have one take for, but it turned out funny. It went exactly how you see it in the movie, which was pretty good, I think.”

Ke$ha Is Channeling ‘Sexiness’ Of ’70s Rock For New Album

Ke$ha‘s already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she’s even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.
Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM’s annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.
“The next album … I’ve been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it’s gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll,” she said. “I’ve been pretty much in this ’70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that’s just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f—, so we’ll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it.”
So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha’s new album is still a ways off, she’s already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.
“I’m trying, trust me,” she laughed. “I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that’s my dream. I’m working on it.”

Jack Osbourne is ready to tie the knot! The former MTV reality star popped the question to girlfriend Lisa Stelly after dating for four months.
The heir to the throne of darkness is “a great influence on her. It’s just no drama. More stable,” a source told Us Weekly about the duo.
Over the summer, Jack appeared on Howard Stern’s show to talk about a documentary he was making about his father, Ozzy Osbourne, and also chatted about his relationship.
Stelly took to her Twitter account on Thursday night to share the good news: “The most amazing man I’ve ever met asked me to marry him….and he wasn’t joking! Crazy, right?”
While 24-year-old aspiring actress Stelly’s résumé is still light, Osbourne has maintained a presence in Hollywood since he appeared with his family on the hit MTV series “The Osbournes.” The reality show had an impressive three-year run before ending in 2005. Jack later starred in his own U.K. reality show, “Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie,” for two seasons.
The 25-year-old has been keeping busy making television appearances on shows like “Armed & Famous” and “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! NOW!” The family even tried their hand at variety TV in 2009 with Fox’s “Osbournes Reloaded.” The show lasted just one season.
Osbourne, who has spoken out about his battles with substance abuse over the years, documented his dad Ozzy’s life, including his struggles with drugs and alcohol, in the 2011 film “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.”
